Meet the academic
Katie Truchon
Katie Truchon is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at the New England Institute of Technology in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. Katie holds a Masters of Information Technology degree and teaches in every sector of the department: from video game development and design to foundational computer programming and software engineering, as well as network engineering and cybersecurity courses. Katie sits on the institution’s AI committee, has worked as a Facilitator for the national Girls Who Code club, and also advises the Adventurers’ Guild, a social club on campus dedicated to teaching and playing tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons and competitive playing card games like Magic! The Gathering. Katie is most interested in the intersection between people and technology and how to best teach, as well as apply, design thinking and creative problem-solving in all areas of her work and life.
